Position Title:  Senior Production Planner (Elmwood Park, NJ)

Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Mon-Fri 7:30 AM – 4 PM

The Role:
The Senior Production Planner is the primary interface between the customers and Kreisler. The responsibilities include scheduling, planning, expediting, inventory management and communicating. The production planner releases material to the production floor based on a master production schedule and WIP targets and also makes shipping commitments to the customer.

Position Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to update customer schedules, and make shipping commits. Manage delinquencies, and provide recovery plans when applicable. Be proactive in alerting customers of upcoming issues.
  • Elevate criticality and urgency of customer orders throughout organization: work with Cell Leaders and Floor Planners to expedite orders needed from the floor.
  • Offer customers an “exceptional” experience: communicate clearly and courteously, listen effectively.
  • Responsible to release work to the stock room to achieve buffer before the constraints.
  • Expedite raw materials with Materials Planning/Purchasing/Inspection as required, elevate materials issues throughout organization

Position Title:  Manufacturing Supervisor (Elmwood Park, NJ)

The Role:
Position is responsible for delivery and quality performance of designated product. These responsibilities extend throughout the entire process (from cradle to grave).  Position provides leadership to cell or department members and is accountable for both the performance and the behaviors of these employees. Responsibility includes supervision of cell or department members including allocation of man hours, employee safety, vacation approvals and overtime approval.

Position Title:  Quality Engineer (Elmwood Park, NJ)

Primary Objectives:
In this role, the quality engineer will organize, coordinate the completion of, and submit all necessary documentation and forms for customer required part specific packages (UPPAP/VSE). They will be required to work with all levels of the organization to maintain the live documents of the UPPAP packages to ensure that all data is correct, complete and indicative of the current production processes. In addition to this, they will support the quality organization through several initiatives.

Position Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify fixed frozen processes per UPPAP requirements and manage the initial approval and change approval for these frozen processes
  • Compile and submit all required supplier documentation and forms for the required packages
  • Provide status updates for the progress of packages and regularly track the status of each package (interim B approval, full approval, etc.)
  • Identify the required package elements and ensure that all element forms and tools are completed correctly according to Pratt guidelines
  • Work with planners, production, quality, and engineering to ensure that the package elements are completed in alignment with customer deadlines as well as Kreisler’s production schedule, impeding production flow as little as possible
  • Work with planners, production, quality, and engineering to ensure that the various stages of the package approval are met within the customers given timeline
  • Resubmit elements of the package when a major change in the production of the part requires approval by the customer
  • Support with quality initiatives such as (but not limited to):
    • First Article Management
    • Kaizen Events
    • Quality clinic functions
    • Customer Returns and investigations
    • Internal investigations and containments
  • Support with compliance initiatives including customer audits and industry audits (ie NADCAP)

Position Title: CNC Machine Setup/Operator (Elmwood Park, NJ)

Primary Objectives:
The CNC Machine Setup/Operator sets up and operates CNC machines (lathes and milling) and conventional machines fabricate metallic parts by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand blueprints, job plans and operation instructions to assure parts are manufactured to specs
  • Grind own tooling
  • Measure workpiece using micrometer, vernier, and/or scale to determine piece is being made to specs
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
  • Inform Machine Shop Supervisor of all discrepancies
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications
  • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
  • Runs two or more machines at any one time
  • Writes and alters programs
  • Knowledge of single point threading
  • Performs all types of deburring
  • Knowledge of programming methods
  • Own basic tools needed

Education and/or Experience:  Associate’s degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school; or six months similar experience and/or training.

The Role:
Tends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template.
  • Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
  • Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
  • Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.
  • Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
  • Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces.
  • Rivets and spot welds workpieces.
  • Responsibilities may include principles and usage of, process improvement tools, statistical techniques and applicable internal procedures.

Position Title: Welder (Elmwood Park, NJ)

Job Type: Full-Time

The Role:

  • Must be able to read and follow operating instructions provided.
  • Follows all quality and safety protocols
  • Wear proper safety equipment
  • Cleans surfaces to be welded with wire brush, carbide grinder and/or alcohol
  • Positions parts in jigs or fixtures and tack welds assembly together
  • Select torch, torch tip, and filler wire according to operation instruction or work router
  • Assemble argon hoses and plugs to achieve proper purge
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance on welding equipment (e.g. set gaps, dusting)
  • TIG weld assemblies in the 1G or 3G position on sheet thickness up to .050” and a diameter of ¼” to 3” tube
  • Inspect weld height, width, color and imperfections per operation instruction requirements
  • Use borescope to inspect inside diameter welds for proper drop though, width, color and imperfections
  • Fill out documentation per company requirements
  • Works with a team of fabricators and/or welders to achieve production requirements
  • Assists other team members with various functions other than manual welding to assist in achieving team requirements
  • Performs weld repair including grinding, filling imperfections and building up metal parts
