United Flexible provides flexible solutions to the United States Department of Defense and their supplier base. We work directly with many of the branches of the United States Armed Forces to provide flexible fluid conveying solutions. Examples include working with NAVSEA (Naval Sea Systems Command, the largest of the Navy’s five system commands, with a fiscal year budget of nearly $30 billion and a force of 70,000 civilian, military and contract support personnel, NAVSEA engineers, builds, buys and maintains the Navy’s ships and submarines and their combat systems); as well as with the Air Force Research Laboratory, the U.S. Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground and the U.S. Navy Puget Sound Facilities.

One application example is the work done on a gas separator plant inside the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). We provided NAVSEA with robust, flexible solutions to a problem concerning vibration elimination as well as conveyance of sea water for cooling and conveyance of high pressure gases. This system takes outside air and separates it into its component gases, mainly Oxygen and Nitrogen, compresses them for storage and utilization throughout the ship.

United Flexible provides flexible solutions to the U.S. Air Force through sub-tier procurement agents for some of their military aircraft. One particular solution is for gas flow metering on high altitude oxygen masks for combat pilots. The solution provided has proven to be robust, long lasting and well suited for the specific application on this critical mission.

With proven designs, digital modelling and world class certifications such as NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) and ISO 9001, United Flexible’s Engineering can provide product solutions to:

  • Vibration elimination on resilient mounted equipment aboard vessels
  • Sophisticated alloy materials resistant to engine exhaust gases on turbine test stands
  • Safe supply or transfer of high pressure gases for military aircraft and ancillary equipment
  • Sea water management on Naval facilities utilizing sophisticated alloy materials resistant to pitting corrosion.
  • Gaseous fluid management and metering devices using Fluoropolymer tubing and hose

US Hose Corporation, a United Flexible Company, as well as Fulton Bellows are fully certified ITAR entities.
